The smallest gathering in the Somerset Captains’ calendar is the annual President’s Day.
This is organised by the in-post President at his home club and the contestants are the past Captain of Captains.
This year was organised by Mike Usher-Clark, in his last year as President, and held at his home club, Worlebury,
where he has been a member for over 40 years.
Most of the recent available Captains came and played and two who were unable to play, in the spirit of our organisation, turned up to say hello and have some banter with the others.
Those attending were
2020 – Steve Butterfield – Cannington GC
2019 – John Beer – Taunton Vale GC
2016 – Chris Warcup – Oake Manor GC
2014 – Bob Acland – Mendip Spring GC

However the winner and not for the first time was George Davis, with 37 points.
John Beer came second with 35 points and the rest in an orderly queue behind.
