We have now sent emails out to confirm places at the Spring Meeting to be held at Long Sutton Golf Club on Tuesday 12th April.

The organiser for this event will be SGC Secretary, John Beer, who can be contacted by email using secretary@somersetgolfcaptains.co.uk or by mobile telephone number 07855647019.
We currently have 52 Captains registered to play, so there are still a few spare places left if you know of anyone else who would like to join us. The first tee will be at 10.04 am and the last tee will probably be around 12.00 or 12.30 pm depending on final numbers. If available, spaces will be left for Captains who turn up on the day; but the event may well be oversubscribed before then.
Please let me know if you have a preferred tee-time between 10.04 am and 12.30 pm . We will do my best to accommodate these requests which will be processed on a “first come first served” basis. I am happy to receive such requests at any time from now on.
If you would like to play with anyone in particular, please let me by Tuesday 29th March, i.e 2 weeks before the event. Otherwise, I would be happy to arrange for you play with another Somerset Captain.
The start sheet will be published on the website, and emailed out to everyone registered to play about a week before the event.
The cost will be £35 per person, and the package for the day includes coffee on arrival; 18 holes of golf; a two course meal, prizes and a donation to the club. The meal will be Roast Pork followed by Bread and Butter pudding. Please let me know if you have special dietary requirements.
As you know, we now ask people to pay in advance using BACS. And so, we would please ask you to transfer £35 by BACS to “Somerset Golf Captains” Sort Code 30-91-84 – Account Number 00684170. In the “Reference” box, please quote “SPRING” followed by your surname (e.g. “SPRING-Jones” so that we can track payments.
The format for the competition is 4BBB stableford, played off the yellow tees (or red for Ladies) with 85% mandatory handicap allowance. Please note that members cannot play with the same partner at both the Spring and Autumn Meetings. This should ensure that we have a clear winner for the “Griffith Trophy” – awarded to the individual with the best combined score from both the Spring and Autumn Meeting
Please note that the AGM will take place as soon as possible after the last group have finished, and we anticipate that this should be around 4.30 pm.
Finally (if you have not already done so) please speak to your current club captain for 2022 and encourage them to join us on the day and get involved with Somerset Golf Captains.
