Fifteen of Somerset’s finest Golf Captains assembled at Taunton and Pickeridge for President Robbo’s Golf Day.
Frank Ryan wasn’t able to play golf, but joined the throng for a lovely meal of lamb shoulder plus all the trimmings followed by Sticky Toffee pudding – which even the Golf Union Chairman Andy Carter found challenging!
Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Course is slowly returning to its normal high-quality standard. The golf was played in the usual spirit and friendly banter & the scores were fairly spread. However the winner, who played very well, was Rob Ford from Long Sutton Golf Club with a score of 36 points. John Beer from Oake Manor was second with 35, closely followed by Vice President Colin Davies from The Mendip with 34 points.
One slight ‘technical hitch’ was that David Andow’s sat nav took him via The Mendip Golf Club before he arrived at Taunton and Pickeridge!
