How do I book?
There are spaces for 30 pairs, which will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and you can only book by emailing the Secretary –

What’s the format?
This is a four-ball better ball format and there will be a range of pairs prizes and some skills prizes. You can enter with another Captain or as a single player and be paired up by me. The only stipulation is that you must not have played as a pair in the 2025 Spring Meeting as there is a cumulative score competition for the Griffith Trophy. We also respectfully ask you not to play with the same people every time!
If you prefer an early, middle or late tee time, then just include this with your booking email and I will do my best to accommodate you. Otherwise, you will be allocated a tee time on a random basis!
In accordance with the R&A handicapping guidance, now that 4 ball better ball is an authorised format of play for handicapping purposes, Somerset Golf Captains will be processing scores as required by England Golf as we now have the IG software in place.
The cost for the day will be £45 for all entrants, regardless of home club. This will include coffee/tea and bacon rolls on arrival, 18 holes of golf, a two-course meal with 2 main course choices and 2 dessert choices as well as vegetarian options. Dinner will be served on a rolling basis, and the prize-giving will only commence once the final group are at their dinner table (probably around 5.30pm).
If you wish to book a buggy, please do so directly with the Club and just let me know in case any other Captains would like to share.
Do I need to pay now?
Yes – please pay £45 via BACS to the usual account; Somerset Golf Captains, Sort Code 30-91-84, Account Number 00684170. Just add Autumn 25 as the reference. I will confirm provisional tee times immediately and then release the final tee sheet a few days before the event.
