Somerset Golf Captains Autumn Meeting
36 Captains competed in the 4 ball better ball Autumn Meeting at Long Sutton on Monday 22nd September 2025. The Indian summer eventually returned, and the field was treated to blue skies and a gentle breeze throughout the day.
Early indications were that the scores would be modest as mainly high thirties cards were being returned. Then a clutch of 41-point scores came in to make the Secretary work hard at his countback calculations.
However, Keri Allchurch and George Davis had other ideas in the penultimate group and scored an excellent 46 points, winning the competition by 5 clear shots. This high score also effectively decided the places in the Griffith Trophy for the best aggregate over the Spring and Autumn Meetings with Keri winning with 85 points and George coming second with 82.

Captain of Captains John Perkins completed his final playing duties of the 2025 season by presenting the prizes and SGC President Iain Robertson wrapped up proceedings by wishing everyone a safe journey home and encouraging them to attend the Annual Dinner on 6th March 2025.
